| Now with that all said, let's talk about Freebies, complementary
| Drink/Food, a Membership/PR Committee or anything else anyone wants
| to volunteer themselves with at least 1-2 others for.  ;)

| Beer is out of the question, it's a liability, period.

For the sake of comparison: Gainesville LUG has beer at installfests.
(Venue is a private business. They also cook on-site.)

| soda, bottled water, etc... is an option.  Food is also an option,
| although I'd really watch the fattening stuff, and there are various
| options that don't cost much more to do it either.  We could and
| should form a Membership/PR committee to discuss this further, before
| presenting the "costs" to LEAP Exec for consideration.  It would also
| show if something like this would "fizzle out" due to various issues,
| lack of volunteers, logistics, costs, etc...

Well, I'm surprised there's the demand to do a monthly installfest. (How
many people typically come? How many are new?)

With that said: I'm happy to bat around some ideas and look at costs and
revenue models. But my previously posted idea -- buffet-style food with
a "recommended donation" -- currently sounds best to me.
